Full Job Description

This is a predominantly market-facing full-time role designed for an ambitious employment tax professional who is passionate about business development, client relationships, and growing a practice. The successful candidate will be expected to lead on go-to-market activity, originate and convert opportunities, and act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders. The role also carries delivery responsibilities, ensuring the candidate maintains technical credibility and can oversee complex engagements where required. As a Manager or Associate Director, you will have responsibility for the following areas: Business development and market-facing activities

  • Build and maintain a deep knowledge of the UK and international automotive market.
  • Proactively identify automotive client opportunities for advisory and/or technology services.
  • Design and lead go-to-market campaigns to grow existing automotive advisory and/or technology revenues.
  • Develop market facing thought leadership content including articles, briefings, and webinars to build eminence for the cars consulting team and to drive market engagement.
  • Represent the firm at external events, conferences, and industry forums to raise the profile of the car consulting team and Deloitte automotive consulting offerings.
  • Build and maintain a deep knowledge of the automotive teams within Deloitte UK and global.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across other teams and service lines (e.g. corporate tax, people advisory, reward) to identify and convert cross-selling opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a personal business development plan aligned to team growth objectives.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of proposals, pitches, and tender responses.
  • Monitor market, legislative and regulatory developments and translate these into commercially relevant client communications and advisory offerings.
  • Client Advisory & Delivery
  • Advise clients on automotive consulting and automotive focused employment tax matters.
  • Lead on automotive client relationships for a portfolio of key accounts.
  • Oversee and quality-review technical deliverables produced by the wider team.
  • Manage client engagements from scoping through to delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Provide commercially sound, pragmatic advice delivering on client requirements.
  • People and team development
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior team members.
  • Contribute to the culture and values of the team.

    Proven track record of business development activity, including winning new clients and expanding existing relationships.
  • Experience of working with Automotive sector clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at board and C-suite level.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify, articulate client value propositions and drive sales.
  • Experience managing and delivering complex advisory engagements.
  • Self-starter with the drive and resilience to succeed in a market-facing role.
  • Qualified tax professional (ATT, CTA, ACA, or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in employment tax.
  • Desirable
  • Experience in a professional services or Big 4/Top 10 firm environment.
  • Experience producing thought leadership or presenting at industry events.
  • Knowledge of international employment tax or global mobility matters.
  • Experience of team leadership and people management.
