Are you an experienced safeguarding leader ready to shape strategy and drive excellent practice across a large rural county? Powys County Council is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our safeguarding arrangements for adults at risk, provide expert oversight on complex cases, and champion continuous improvement in outcomes and protection.
In this role you will lead adult safeguarding for the Council, delivering safe, high-quality support and advise on complex safeguarding cases, including legal/judicial proceedings. You will take responsibility for the safeguarding strategy, driving audit and quality assurance across Adult Services, whilst building strong partnerships and being an active member of the corporate board, regional multi-agency board and various stakeholder groups. In this role you will provide leadership and support directly to the Adult Safeguarding Team Manager, DoLS Professional Lead and ADU (Deputyship) team manager.
We are looking for a compassionate leader who is passionate about people, someone with extensive safeguarding experience, including procedure development and complex case oversight. A proven multi-agency leader with strong knowledge of relevant law who can chair complex meetings, lead high-level reviews/investigations, and influence senior stakeholders. An excellent communicator able to present clearly, produce outcome-focused reports, deliver to tight deadlines and drive improvement and better outcomes for the people of Powys.
