Full Job Description

This is a key position providing management accounting and business partnering support to multiple schools. You'll work closely with Headteachers and senior leaders to ensure robust financial planning, informed decision-making, and strong financial control across the Trust. You will also support the Finance Director with reporting, projects, and statutory financial requirements, playing an integral role in the Trust's financial success.,

  • Produce and review budgets, forecasts, and management accounts across a portfolio of schools
  • Partner with Headteachers and budget holders to support financial decision-making
  • Deliver clear, insightful financial reports to non-finance stakeholders
  • Support annual financial planning and ensure accurate financial records
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist with year-end processes
  • Contribute to internal audit work, controls, and policy updates
  • Assist with onboarding new schools into the Trust
  • Support procurement activities, contracts, and tenders to ensure value for money
  • Help with central finance function tasks including financial analysis, audit preparation and statutory returns

    We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Essential:
  • Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW/CIPFA) or qualified by experience
  • Strong background in management accounting, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processes
  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insight
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to travel between school sites
  • Desirable:
  • Experience within a Multi-Academy Trust or education sector
  • Familiarity with systems such as PS Financials or IMP Planner
  • Evidence of continued professional development in education finance
