Full Job Description

  • To support the child to access places of interest
  • Transport him to and from home to places of interest
  • Helping him to make independent choices
  • Support him with life skills, social skills.
  • To be a friendly companion to the child and to encourage and support him with his interests.
  • Ensure his safety in public spaces i.e road crossing
  • Report any issues to child's parents
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required

    To work one to one with a young boy (11 years old) with Autism, ADHD and global development delay. The child lives in his family home with his parents. The purpose is to build a trusting professional relationship with the young gentleman. To support him in developing confidence in social settings and to develop independence, promoting a fulfilling quality of life. The young gentleman enjoys good for food, cooking, art, going to the park and day trips out. The candidate must be patient, motivational, cheerful, relaxed and calm. It is essential the candidate has experience with working with children with autism and ADHD and to learn the child's triggers and what makes him sad / happy. The young child will need support and motivation to go out for the day, it will be part of your role to encourage and support him to get out as well as support him whilst taking part in activites with him. Essential the candidate can drive., Have experience of working with vulnerable children.
