Full Job Description

  • In your role as a Roaming Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will ensure that you maintain the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and compliance across all allocated sites.
  • You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • You will respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies across all services.
  • You will travel between multiple sites as required, prioritising workload effectively to meet service needs.
  • You will ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and Active Care Group policies.
  • You will maintain accurate records of all maintenance work carried out, including reporting and updating relevant systems.
  • You will identify and report hazards, risks, and required improvements to management.
  • You will ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working condition.
  • You will liaise with external contractors for specialist works and ensure compliance with site requirements, including obtaining and reviewing RAMS.
  • You will monitor and report on the quality of contractor work completed on site.
  • You will support with routine checks, including fire safety, water safety, and environmental compliance.
  • You will assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment across all services.
  • You will behave in a manner that upholds the reputation of the Organisation at all times.
  • You will undertake relevant training to ensure safe and effective delivery of maintenance services.
  • You will follow local on-call procedures, where required, in the event of urgent maintenance issues.

    Good all-round maintenance skills, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.Ability to use hand-operated and power tools safely.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and responsive during urgent situations.Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
