Full Job Description
- In your role as a Roaming Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will ensure that you maintain the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and compliance across all allocated sites.
- You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- You will respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies across all services.
- You will travel between multiple sites as required, prioritising workload effectively to meet service needs.
- You will ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and Active Care Group policies.
- You will maintain accurate records of all maintenance work carried out, including reporting and updating relevant systems.
- You will identify and report hazards, risks, and required improvements to management.
- You will ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working condition.
- You will liaise with external contractors for specialist works and ensure compliance with site requirements, including obtaining and reviewing RAMS.
- You will monitor and report on the quality of contractor work completed on site.
- You will support with routine checks, including fire safety, water safety, and environmental compliance.
- You will assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment across all services.
- You will behave in a manner that upholds the reputation of the Organisation at all times.
- You will undertake relevant training to ensure safe and effective delivery of maintenance services.
- You will follow local on-call procedures, where required, in the event of urgent maintenance issues. This job description is not intended to be exhaustive, and duties may change in line with service needs.
Good all-round maintenance skills, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.Ability to use hand-operated and power tools safely.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and responsive during urgent situations.Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
