Full Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and functionality of equipment, tools, buildings, and safety measures within and around the company properties. This role involves performing a range of tasks to support operational efficiency safety, and maintaining the overall standard of the property's communal spaces, rooms and grounds.,

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of communal areas, rooms, land, equipment, and tools to identify issues and ensure optimal functionality.


  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including janitorial responsibilities for all communal areas. Maintenance responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to, upkeep, minor repairs, and property servicing.


  • Daily inspection to check for building defects and report any internal defects for maintenance via our reporting system for all areas.


  • Regularly inspect and maintain key logs.


  • Issue keys, fobs, and washing machine cards. Also responsible for accepting payment for electricity cards.


  • Lead planned and unplanned maintenance to ensure completion to specifications


  • Carrying out check-in and out inspections, meter readings, update on Podio and IAuditor.


  • Organise the cleaning and redecoration of units on change over.


  • Carrying out weekly compliance checks as required.


  • Taking monthly meter readings and updating them on Podio.


  • Inspecting gutters, drains etc to ensure they are kept free from debris


  • Compliance with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation


  • Weekly flushing of taps in void units to prevent Legionella growth


  • Conducting viewings to applicants as communicated by the Property Manager.


  • Periodic inspections of each flat to ensure they are kept in good condition and ensure that any required repairs do not get worse.


  • Conduct welfare checks on tenants as and when concerns are raised.


  • Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.


  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality maintenance.


  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.


  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.


  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.


  • Basic understanding of construction equipment, tools, and machinery..


  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical training or certification in maintenance, mechanics, or related field is preferred.


  • Prior experience in maintenance, construction, or related field is an asset.


  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials.


  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.


  • Capable of using hand and power tools commonly used in maintenance work.
