Full Job Description

As a Maintenance Officer at Southern Hospice Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring our hospice environments are safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, families, and staff. Working across our three hospice sites, you will maintain buildings, facilities, and equipment to a high standard, supporting the delivery of compassionate care. This hands-on role involves a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, contributing to a safe and well-functioning environment. Key Duties and Responsbilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across sites
  • Undertake general repairs including building, maintenance, plumbing, and other areas of work
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed on schedule and correctly recorded
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in safe working condition
  • Support maintenance and improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Identify hazards and promote safe working practices
  • Liaise with contractors and supervise on-site work
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and volunteers
  • Work flexibly across sites and participate in on-call duties
  • Report updates to the Maintenance Manager
