Full Job Description
We're recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Joiner to join the team supporting Curry's National Distribution Centre in Newark. Job Description This is a varied, multi-skilled maintenance role based within a large-scale, busy distribution environment, where no two days are necessarily the same. The position will involve day-to-day building fabric and joinery maintenance, but there is also a strong project, refurbishment and installation element to the role. Alongside maintaining the existing facilities, you'll support a range of works across the distribution centre, including joinery installations, building modifications, refurbishments and other client-led projects. There is a significant amount of activity taking place across the site, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to get involved in projects beyond standard reactive and planned maintenance. There may also be occasions where you are required to support projects at other client sites across the country. Any travel away from the main site will be fully covered, including appropriate travel expenses. Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day building fabric maintenance and joinery repairs across the distribution centre.
- Undertake general joinery works, including doors, frames, fire doors, fixtures, fittings and other building fabric.
- Complete fire door maintenance and remedial works in line with site requirements.
- Support refurbishment and installation projects across the distribution centre, from smaller modifications through to larger client-led projects.
- Install, alter and modify fixtures, fittings and other building elements as required.
- Carry out minor plumbing works, including taps, toilets, sinks, flushing, flow checks and minor leaks.
- Support with basic electrical tasks where competent, such as emergency lighting and lamp/ballast changes.
- Work closely with the wider maintenance and project teams to ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.
- Support projects at other client locations when required, with all travel and associated expenses covered.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works using site systems, tablets or PDAs.
NVQ-qualified Joiner or equivalent. - Proven experience within joinery, building fabric maintenance or a similar multi-skilled maintenance environment.
- Strong practical joinery skills with experience working on doors, fire doors, fixtures, fittings and general building fabric.
- Comfortable carrying out minor plumbing works, including taps, toilets, sinks, flushing, flow checks and minor leaks.
- Experience of working on refurbishment, installation or project works would be highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices, compliance and working within a busy operational environment.
- IT literate and comfortable using tablets, PDAs or similar systems for job logging.
- Flexible and reliable, with the willingness to travel to other sites when required.
- Able to work independently, manage competing tasks and take ownership of maintenance and project activities.
