About the Role Maintenance Engineer Level 2 (Single Skilled) | Level 3 (Multi Skilled) Location: Hereford Grandstand Salary
- Level 2: £29,000 - £37,000
- Level 3: £35,000 - £43,000
- Level 4: £39,000 - £47,000 Additional annual shift premium: £7,785 Shift Pattern Average of 42 hours per week across a rolling 5-week rotation covering days and nights.
- Day Shift: 07:00 - 19:00
- Night Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Weekly rotation (Week 1-5 details). Every 20 weeks there is an additional CI weekend shift (Saturday & Sunday days), falling between Week 5 and Week 1. You Will Play a Key Role In
- Maximising equipment reliability
- Minimising downtime
- Supporting production efficiency
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective repairs
- Maintain conveyors, processing equipment, and packaging machinery
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and safety
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate engineering stores stock records Level 2 - Single Skilled Engineer Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Previous maintenance engineering experience
- Strong fault-finding ability within your core discipline
- Experience within manufacturing or production environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desire to develop additional engineering disciplines and progress your career Level 3 - Multi Skilled Engineer Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with VSDs, PLC systems, and automated production lines advantageous
- Knowledge of food manufacturing and hygiene standards desirable
- Experience with process machinery desirable
