Maintenance Assistant - Painting and Decorating

To work in accordance with the requirements of HTM's, Fire code, health and safety regulations/guidelines and Trust's health and safety polices. To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment. To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes. Actively participate in the operation of the Trusts current work management control scheme by working within the scheme including completion of all paperwork/IT required by the scheme. (Including completion of all job tickets, risk assessments, daily worksheets and weekly/monthly timesheets). Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management. Undertake emergency cover on site, providing cover for all building services to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal working hours are attended to. We have an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistant to undertake a wide range of duties within a busy and dedicated in-house workforce serving a general acute hospital. You will be based at Ipswich Hospital (travel to other ESNEFT sites will be required as and when required) and requires a highly motivated, dependable and flexible person with good communication and interpersonal skills, who is capable of working to a high standard with minimum supervision.,

• Relevant NVQ level 2 or experience
• Good Standard level of Education
• Previous "in-house" training associated with Building services
Experience Essential
• A good general knowledge of maintenance and recording requirements including the use of relevant tools and equipment.
• IT Literate
Desirable
• Demonstrable previous experience of Building Services maintenance.
Knowledge and Skills Essential
• To be able to practically demonstrate a good understanding of Building Services maintenance, repair and operation.
• Demonstrate the ability to undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and repair work.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and identify urgent actions
• Driver, holding a valid UK Driving licence.
• A Basic Knowledge of workshop safety practices
Desirable
• Good fault finding and repair skills.
