Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant on a temporary 6-month contract within a prestigious office building in London N1C. This is a hands-on role supporting a high-end, fast-paced workspace - applicants must have prior maintenance or facilities experience. The Role: You will play a key part in maintaining the high standards, functionality, and overall presentation of the building, acting as an ambassador for the workplace and ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day., General & Building Standards

  • Maintain high standards across the office space, ensuring a professional and polished environment
  • Identify, report, and resolve defects in fixtures, fittings, and overall building aesthetics
  • Carry out regular walkarounds to spot maintenance and redecorating needs
  • Maintenance Duties
  • Undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks (excluding electrical)
  • Respond promptly to reactive issues via ticketing systems, email, and verbal requests
  • Complete basic repairs including fabric, plumbing, and general upkeep
  • Ensure materials used align with building specifications and O&M manuals
  • Manage stock levels of maintenance consumables and critical items
  • Health & Safety
  • Carry out all work safely, ensuring minimal disruption to staff and visitors
  • Work in line with H&S legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Maintain accurate records (e.g., fire door checks, COSHH, maintenance logs)
  • Office Moves & Set-Up
  • Support office moves, including assembling/disassembling furniture and desks
  • Move and reposition large items across the building
  • Assist with floor box relocations and carpet tile adjustments
  • Prepare spaces for client pitches and internal use
  • General Organisation
  • Maintain clean, organised, and fully stocked storage areas and tool rooms

    Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or building services role (essential)
  • Practical, hands-on skillset with strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Able to manage workload across multiple requests and priorities
  • Reliable, proactive, and takes pride in maintaining high standards
