Full Job Description
A Vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Trust Estates Team at a number of our In Patient facilities.,
- To install, maintain, repair, and improve the internal and external fabric of the Trust's sites and buildings forming Sussex Partnership NHS Trust.
- Diagnosis of faults in elements of building structures, fabric, finishes, fixtures, fittings and drainage services.
- The Maintenance Assistant will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skill, they will however progressively be suitably trained to acquire elements of other building craft skills with the intention of reaching levels of flexibility and competence to enable them to achieve and apply the ability to perform the tasks as described below in 'main duties'.
- To undertake maintenance tasks at all Trust locations supervised and unsupervised as directed by the Estates Officer (Operations) / Team Leader - Estates Services. Comprising of routine building and engineering maintenance and minor repair work appropriate to training and experience.
- Maintain high standards of quality working practice, tidiness and health & safety.
- Assist craftsman in completing new or repair work.
- Participation in an Operative single man emergency on call rota system, for which a separate additional payment is made.
- Be appointed a Competent Person commensurate with your skill, training and experience
You will form part of a wider Estates team reporting to the Estates Team Leaders with a large range of Trades as well as mentoring and assisting with apprentices with practical training skills
