Introduction

Poole Process Equipment Ltd is seeking a Machining Technician Apprentice to support the manufacture of heat exchangers. You'll receive practical training in manual and CNC machining, working with experienced engineers to produce high-quality components in a safe manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

As a Machining Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced machinists and engineers to manufacture components used in the production of heat exchangers. You will receive training in a range of machining processes and develop the skills required to produce high-quality components safely and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

• Setting up and operating manual horizontal and vertical boring machines.

• Operating and maintaining manual centre lathes.

Operating CNC drilling machines and learning CNC machining principles.

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Selecting and using appropriate cutting tools, measuring equipment, and fixtures.

• Carrying out dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.

• Maintaining quality standards and recording inspection results.

• Following company health, safety, and environmental procedures.

• Supporting continuous improvement activities within the machine shop.

 



Training Outcome
