Full Job Description
- Demonstrate the ability to exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy in to make decisions and provide advice for patients and professionals concerning the management of lymphoedema.
- To ensure that the views of the service users and their carers are effectively sought, and passed through appropriate channels for appropriate action, including taking action regarding complaints of the service user or their carer in accordance with the Trust policy.
- To plan and provide an individualised plan of care for the patient with lymphoedema incorporating patient focused goals and outcomes based on sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and knowledge. This should include the ability to provide appropriate levels of intervention for the patient in keeping with the four cornerstones of care namely skincare, exercise, compression, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
- Provide highly specialist lymphoedema advice and support to generalist nurses, care agencies and health professionals including doctors and consultants, to ensure high quality individualised patient care. This will include training and education on specific and expert clinical treatments to support continuity of care for patients.
- To support the Skin Integrity Services Lead with strategic and service development, vision and direction for the lymphoedemaservices within the Integrated Care System where required and where appropriate., Please see attached job description document for full details. oRegistered adult nurse or allied HCP - oQualification in lymphoedema management
- oEvidence of significant experience in lymphoedema
- oEvidence of further academic or practical study at a higher level eg level 7 or relevant experience
- onon-medical prescribing qualification or willing to undertake Desirable
- oTeaching qualification
- oPrevious management course/qualification
- Palliative Care Course Experience Essential
- oSignificant experience of leadership & management
- oEvidence of experience in teaching and mentoring within your role
- oExperience of cross boundary working in partnership and collaboration with health, social and voluntary sectors.
- oAn understanding of, or experience in cancer management and its impact on lymphoedema
- oKnowledge and understanding of clinical governance and the implications to their own service area
- oProven leadership and management skills in some aspect of service development. Experience of using advanced communication skills Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Essential
- oKnowledge and experience of budget management
- oAbility to appraise complex situations and facts and take appropriate action.
- oAbility to use own initiative and take responsibility.
- oComputer literate

- oAbility to deal with highly sensitive and complex information where agreement and co - operation is required with patients, carers, colleagues and other professionals.
- oAbility to communicate highly complex information where there may be barriers to understanding, oEligible to live and work in the UK
- oMust have access to a vehicle & be able to commute to meet the demands of the role and remain flexible - to meet the demands of the service
- oWillingness to uphold the Trust's values
