Luton Wicketz Development Officer

In this fulltime role at 37 hours per week, you will be the lead of one of Wicketz's largest projects. We are seeking an energetic and experienced individual who can deliver social impact through sport. This is a sports development role, focused on creating positive outcomes for young people through cricket. The Wicketz Development Officer will be responsible for engaging young people who face disadvantage and inequality of opportunity, to become active members at local community Wicketz hubs. Each Wicketz hub must successfully deliver a programme that enhances participant's mental and physical wellbeing as well as developing skills that will help them fulfill their potential.,

• To coach on and maintain a minimum of 5 sustainable and inclusive community led cricket hub environments
• Engage a core group of young people at each community hub that have regular contact time at Wicketz sessions
• Identify and engage with young people who face the highest inequality of opportunity and would benefit from Wicketz the most
• Develop a programme that delivers positive outcomes for participants focused on:
+ Health and physical wellbeing + Mental wellbeing + Personal and employability skills + Other issues that negatively affect beneficiaries
• Build a network of partnerships to create pathways for young people beyond the Wicketz programme
• Develop employability opportunities for Wicketz participants including:
+ Initiatives to enhance the employability skills of participants + A network of local organisations and businesses to provide employment experience, pathways and increased awareness of opportunities
• Promote a youth voice, developing a structured forum for beneficiaries to share their views and shape the programme
• Identify local partnerships who can add value to Wicketz financially or in-kind
• Develop a volunteer programme that contributes to the running of Wicketz hubs
• Ensure Luton Wicketz champions the community and engages with key stakeholders
• Ensure Luton Wicketz is a champion for inclusion
• Positively represent the brand of Wicketz and ensure all activity is delivered to a high, professional standard
• Record and monitor session data and social impact of beneficiaries ensuring impact is measurable and kept up to date
• Provide formal written reports and case studies
• Ensure Wicketz has a legacy within the community beyond the cycle of the programme through community buy-in and ownership
