Full Job Description

The Lung Cancer Screening CNS will work alongside the rest of the lung cancer screening team. The main element of the role is to deal with scan results under the supervision of the Lung Cancer Screening Clinical Director. This will include phoning patients whose scans are suspicious for lung cancer, as well as contacting patients regarding other incidental findings identified on their scans.

All patients who are scanned will receive a results letter. This is partly automated, but the nurse will be responsible for generating the majority of these letters, ensuring that anything mentioned by the patient during their review is addressed and that all results are explained in an appropriate manner.

This developing service is supported by a forward-thinking and supportive management team, Nurse Practitioners, administrators, and other clinical team members. There are opportunities to develop both clinical and managerial skills, as well as opportunities for further study.

We have a great opportunity for a Band 6 Lung Cancer Screening CNS to join our Lung Cancer Screening Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (MKUH), working with the wider multidisciplinary team to support the expansion of the MKUH service.

We are looking for a confident and dynamic nurse with excellent, up-to-date specialist respiratory and cancer knowledge, as well as enhanced clinical skills. The successful candidate should have a key interest in lung cancer, quality improvement, and service development.'We care We communicate We collaborate We contribute', Milton Keynes University Hospital, in proud partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital committed to advancing patient care through cutting-edge research and education.
