Full Job Description

You will support pupils in the dining hall, classroom and playground, helping them develop independence, social skills and confidence. You'll work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure pupils' individual needs are met throughout the lunchtime period. As a Lunchtime Support Assistant at The Bridge School, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils during lunch, including helping with eating/feeding, social interaction and transitions. Training will be provided as necessary
  • Supervising pupils in the dining hall, classroom, playground and other indoor spaces
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, play and communication
  • Assisting pupils with personal care needs where required
  • Ensuring a safe, calm and inclusive environment at all times
  • Working as part of a supportive team to uphold the school's values and safeguarding standards

    We are seeking caring, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Support Assistants to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in helping pupils enjoy a safe, structured and positive lunchtime experience, The Bridge Special School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
  • This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as stated in the person specification.
