As a qualified Dentist, you have the skills, training and knowledge needed take care of our troops' dental health. No two days look the same here and no two practices do either. With the chance to travel the globe, you could be working on huge Army bases or smaller mobile surgeries on operations. You'll have the freedom to choose the best, high-quality treatment for your patients, every time. And, with military and professional training, as well as the chance to get involved in sports and adventure activities - you'll be able to take your skills further and become an expert in your role. Become the best in your profession. During your training at Sandhurst, you'll be an Officer Cadet, earning £34,676 a year. As you progress through our ranks, this will rise to £52,815 for a Captain, and £66,240 when you become a Major. You'll also receive 30 days' annual leave every year (plus bank holidays and extra leave after operations), free medical and dental care, cheaper living costs, and free gym and sports facilities. And unless you're away on operations or training exercises, you'll normally work 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. As an entry-level Officer, you'll start your career in a position of management, commanding responsibility for your team of soldiers. You don't need any experience to apply - through world-class training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, you'll develop the transferrable leadership skills and qualifications you need to motivate and support your team. Outside the Royal Military Academy, you'll continue to learn and grow through Adventurous Training and international travel. Being an Officer is a global adventure, whether you're leading expeditions, running operations abroad, or delivering humanitarian aid to communities in need. To qualify, you must be between 17 years 9 months and 36 years and 11 months. You'll need to be a qualified dentist with active registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) or at the point of completing your dentist training. You'll also need to pass a basic fitness test.

You'll build confidence, learn survival skills, and train to guide your team through tough situations - anywhere in the world. You'll then take charge of a group of soldiers and begin specialist training in your chosen area - like engineering, intelligence, or even flying an Apache helicopter. If you have specialist skills, or want to learn them, you could join the Army as a Professionally Qualified Officer (PQO). There are roles in science, medicine, law and more, where the Army will pay for your civilian training (e.g. university) or offer a lump sum if you've already qualified. You'll then do a role in your field unlike any other in civilian life. Army life is full of exciting opportunities, wherever you join. You could be parachuting in the UK or diving overseas.
