Full Job Description
- Assessment and management of orthopaedic and surgical inpatients
- Participation in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Reviewing new admissions and emergency referrals
- Pre-operative and post-operative patient management
- Assisting senior clinicians with patient care and treatment plans
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Liaising with nursing staff, Allied Health Professionals, and specialty teams
- Supporting patient discharge planning
Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise - Previous NHS experience in Orthopaedics, Trauma & Orthopaedics, General Surgery, or related surgical specialties
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (mandatory)
- Valid Right to Work in the UK
- Ability to start ASAP
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience managing acute surgical patients and ward-based care, Acute patient assessment
- Surgical ward management
- Trauma assessment and management
- Clinical documentation
- Communication and teamwork
- Time management and prioritisation
- Safe prescribing practices
- Basic procedural skills relevant to SHO level Desirable:
- ATLS certification
- Experience with fracture clinics
- Experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics rotations within the NHS
