Full Job Description
We are advertising a fixed-term, fulltime 10 PA Locum Consultant post in General Paediatrics at University Hospitals Birmingham for a 12-month period to start as soon as we are able to recruit. The post is primarily based at Good Hope Hospital, with clinical duties delivered across both Good Hope, Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull sites within the Trust. This interim post has arisen due to retirement. We invite applications for an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our established team of general paediatricians to provide high-quality acute assessment, inpatient, neonatal and outpatient services to our local population. We are proud to serve a large and diverse community and are committed to working collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families across our service. We are particularly seeking a colleague with strong General Paediatrics and Neonatal skills, and a special interest in Dermatology or Allergy to contribute to our cross-site multidisciplinary team.,
- A 12-bed Paediatric Assessment and Inpatient Unit supporting GP referrals and a busy Emergency Department
- A Level 1 Neonatal Unit admitting babies of greater than 32 weeks gestation and supporting a maternity service at Good Hope Hospital with approximately 4,500 deliveries per year. We work closely with the Level 3 Neonatal Service at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital with transfer of preterm infants of less than 32 weeks gestation and those requiring intensive care.
- The successful applicant will join a team of 10 paediatric consultants based at GHH and wider team of general paediatric consultants at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital BHH.
