Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Fixed Term Locum Consultant General Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Paediatric Imaging. The candidate will provide specialist reporting for acute and elective paediatric cases. This role will be shared between Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Sherwood Forest Hospitals and you will be expected to work across both sites. We are interested in candidates with a passion to lead and develop the paediatric acute services. You will be required to share the general reporting workload with other colleagues in addition to acute and oncology work. This will complement the skill mix of the existing consultant teams. - MBBS / MBBCh and possess FRCR.
- Paediatric Imaging sub-specialist training
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice at time of application Desirable
- Special interest or additional qualifications in other areas of clinical radiology
- Higher degree
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register
- Formal teaching qualifications
- Formal training in human factors, patient safety investigations (e.g. PSIRF, SJR)
- Formal NHS leadership / management training. Experience Essential
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining a UK CCT in general radiology
- Independent at Paediatric sonography and plain film reporting
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of radiological investigations including of acute imaging.
- Basic IT skills and use of RIS and PACS
- Ability to teach clinical skills.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate residents. Desirable
- 5 years supervised training in an appropriate ST equivalent training programme
- Experience in a similar post
- Clinical leadership experience or training.
- Previous experience of using online patient record system e.g., SystmOne / Nerve Centre / communication skills Essential
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a professional relationship
- Caring attitude towards the patient Desirable
- Motivation skills, leadership skills and flexibility Person Specification Qualifications Essential
