Locum Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecologist Urogynaecology

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a 10 session Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecologist with ATSM/SITM Urogynaecology, subspecialising in urogynaecology for a period of 12 months., The post holder will work with consultant colleagues to provide a high-quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology service across designated Health Board sites, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and the promotion of health.

Working collaboratively with consultant colleagues and the multi-professional team, the post holder will have continuing responsibility for patients under their care, ensuring appropriate delegation, supervision and training of staff. The post holder will contribute to the safe, efficient and effective delivery of services in line with Health Board values, operational policies and the Annual Plan, and will support service improvement through quality improvement methodology and timely reporting of safety concerns.

This post is joining a team of 21 Consultants responsible for the provision of O&G services at Singleton Hospital within Swansea Bay University Health Board., Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people.We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science. The HB has three major hospitals providing a range of services: Morriston and Singleton hospitals in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot.

Mental Health and learning Disabilities services are provided both in hospital settings (Cefn Coed Hospital, Swansea Caswell clinic and Taith Newydd at Glanrhyd Bridgend) and other community settings.

We also have community hospital and primary care resource centres providing clinical services outside the main hospitals.

The Health Board is part of A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH), which is a partnership with Hywel Dda UHB and Swansea University. Aimed at improving the wellbeing and wealth of Southwest Wales.
