Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. There is scope within the job plan to develop a special interest. You will join a team of 28 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. This post is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology role covering antenatal clinics, Elective Caesarean sections, General gynaecology clinics, , Gynaecology theatres, Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work) (days and nights) 1:16, Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16, and non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology, 1:16. All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites., Main Clinical Duties include:

• General Antenatal clinics
• Elective Caesarean sections
• General gynaecology clinics
• Gynaecology theatres
• Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work) (days and nights) 1:16
• Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16
• Non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology, 1:16
• Clinical Admin time
• Advice and Guidance
• Core SPA 1.5 PA

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales. Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury which are located 20 minutes' drive apart. Together they provide 99% of our activity. Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services.
