Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist - Lung

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist for a 12-month fixed-term post to join our nationally and internationally recognised oncology service.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred cancer care. The postholder will join a dynamic and highly specialised multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will deliver consultant level medical oncology care for patients with Lung cancer across both University College London Hospital and Whittington Hospital, providing systemic anti cancer therapy and specialist clinical input in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role includes active participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and the breast oncology on call and ward rotas as required. The postholder will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, including the supervision and training of specialty trainees, and will play an active role in governance, service development, and continuous improvement within the wider oncology department.

Flexibility is expected to support service evolution across both UCLH and Whittington Hospital, reflecting the complexity of Lung oncology care and allowing scope for the development of individual clinical, operational, and leadership interests.
