Full Job Description
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
The appointees will provide Consultant clinical leadership and specialist advice for the Neonatal Service and for PaNDR. PaNDR is a consultant-led service with consultant involvement in all aspects of service delivery. You will also provide Consultant delivered transport shifts.
The Neonatal Unit in Cambridge is one of three tertiary level units in the East of England Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. The unit currently operates at 40 cots (28 ITU/HDU and 12 SCBU) with just under 6,000 inborn deliveries. As well as comprehensive neonatal intensive care, the unit provides a service for the high risk maternal and fetal medicine teams, specialist neonatal surgery and neurosurgery. We have close links with the rest of the network including two other tertiary units.
