Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine

The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues, be responsible for:

o Providing a 24/7 consultant-led Emergency Department assessment team to ensure the safe, timely and effective assessment and subsequent management of all patients attending the EDo Providing consultant opinion for all patients referred for emergency admission and attending the ED. This will include the provision of an immediate opinion and intervention for seriously ill patients at the request of junior ED staff.o Working with our Acute Medical Teamo Taking responsibility for ensuring the appropriate specialty destination for each patient and determining whether discharge home is appropriate.o The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.
