Locum Consultant in Dermatology

We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Dermatologist for 10 Programmed Activities for 12 months, fixed term. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious dermatology team working in a recently built modern department aiming to give the highest quality of care to the population served by Walsall Health Care NHS Trust and The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust., 1. To assist the current team and have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to provide a high quality of Dermatology Services to patients by continual development of practice in the light of evidence-base, and clinical standards.
2. To partake in Skin Cancer MDT.
3. To provide advice to colleagues in other specialities on Dermatology care.
4. To provide a comprehensive Outpatient service and surgery service
5. To provide clinical support and teaching to resident and speciality doctors, Medical Students and Postgraduate Medical Education.
6. To support and encourage audit and research.
7. To have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to maintaining a high quality of service to patients.
8. To actively participate in CPD and personal development plans.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities.

A new Urgent Emergency Care Centre was opened in March 2023. The two-storey development has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity and has provided almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
