The Department of Gastroenterology in East Kent Hospitals is looking for an enthusiastic new colleague to join us on our journey into 21st century gastroenterology and increasing subspecialisation.

We currently provide a 7-day Consultant-led gastroenterology inpatient service on two acute hospital sites at Margate and Ashford, a site based 24/7 GI Bleed rota for the two main acute sites as well as specialist Nutrition, IBD, Hepatology, HPB, UGI Cancer, complex polypectomy services, Bowel Cancer Screening and capsule endoscopy. Endoscopy Services are provided from the three main hospital sites in Canterbury, Margate and Ashford., We are looking for a keen Gastroenterologist, to join the William Harvey Hospital team at Ashford. Whether established or just starting out on your Consultant journey. We will work with you to develop your specialist interests whether these be further developing our existing services, which include HBP, Hepatology and complex polyp service, or looking to develop new services for our Trust, such as GI physiology and EUS. As a Trust, we are proud of the reputation our complex polyp service has achieved including international recognition through the annual KENT course and cohesive working with our colorectal colleagues.

The post holder will be required to support the GI Bleeding rota and a currently 1:8 Gastroenterology ward week, including in-reach to the emergency pathways.
