Full Job Description

This role combines clinical shifts with hands-on proctoring, on-scene decision support, and involvement in training and governance. You will work closely with HEMS doctors, paramedics, perfusionists, LAS Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, and the Pan-London ECPR Steering Group.,

  • Provide on-scene proctoring for pre-hospital ECPR as part of the ECAT clinical team.
  • Support delivery of on-shift ECAT/ECPR training and simulation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing competency development of HEMS clinicians and LAS APPCCs.
  • Assist with data collection, quality assurance and governance case reviews.
  • Support training in vascular access and other ECAT interventions.
  • Engage in cross-organisational collaboration with Barts Health, LAS and external partners.

    GMC Specialist Registration (or equivalent).
  • Consultant-level experience delivering ECPR.
  • Pre-hospital medicine experience.
  • Experience delivering in-hospital or pre-hospital ECPR training.
  • Skills in ECMO cannulation and pre-hospital vascular access.
  • Desirable:
  • Accreditation in TOE.
  • Experience in HEMS or out-of-hospital cardiac arrest care.
  • Research or programme development experience in ECMO/ECPR.
