Locum Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust as a Locum Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This post has been created as part of a planned expansion of the consultant workforce within our dynamic and growing Imaging Department. The successful candidate will join an established team of specialist neuroradiologists delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services across one of the UK's largest teaching trusts. The role offers the opportunity to work within a modern, fully digital imaging department equipped with state-of-the-art CT and MRI technology, supporting a wide range of acute, elective and tertiary neuroscience services. The post holder will provide specialist diagnostic neuroradiology expertise, including reporting and supervision of neuro CT and MRI examinations, acute stroke imaging and participation in specialist multidisciplinary team meetings. The successful candidate
will also contribute to the neuroradiology on-call rota, currently 1:13, supporting the delivery of a high-quality seven-day service. UHCW is a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre and tertiary referral centre serving a population of over one million people across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated clinician with expertise in neuroradiology who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and supporting service development., The successful candidate will join an established team of Consultant Neuroradiologists providing specialist diagnostic imaging services within one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK. The post holder will play a key role in delivering comprehensive neuroradiology services across University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, supporting both acute and elective patient pathways. The primary responsibilities will include reporting and supervising a full range of neuro CT and MRI examinations, providing acute neuroradiology MRI cover and supporting CT angiography reporting for hyperacute stroke services. The post holder will work closely with clinical colleagues across multiple specialties, offering expert imaging advice to support diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing patient management. Participation in specialist multidisciplinary team meetings will form an important part of the role. The successful applicant will contribute to the neuroradiology consultant on-call
rota, currently 1:13, helping to provide timely specialist radiological support for emergency and urgent cases. They will also support departmental service delivery through flexible working arrangements, assisting with acute and priority imaging workloads when required to meet service demands and waiting time targets.
