Full Job Description

The successful candidate will work across Children Looked After service and Neurodevelopment, Neurodisability and safeguarding service.

The post holder will be clinically competent in meeting the health needs of Children Looked After, including those undergoing adoption as appropriate to role. The post holder with also be expected to be part of the clinical team who contribute as Medical advisor to the Adoption Panel

The post holder should be competent in providing holistic support to children with complex disability including linking multidisciplinary team.

The post-holder will deliver clinical safeguarding child protection medical assessments in the dedicated children's safeguarding facility, the Anlaby Suite,. Following all medical examinations the post-holder will be responsible for producing written reports/statements for child protection and civil/criminal court proceedings

The Service does not contribute to Autism and ADHD assessments as the Neurodiversity assessment and support is hosted by an alternative provider locally (Humber Mental health Foundation Trust)

There will be no on call commitments with this role. The post holder will also work collaboratively with nursing, allied health professionals, and management colleagues to ensure delivery of high-quality paediatric care.

Main duties of the job

This post comprises 7 Programmed Activities (PAs) with evolving opportunity to increase PA overtime.

1.5 PA Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) is allocated, covering professional development, teaching, audit, and governance. Additional SPA time can be allocated for research, clinical management and educational supervisor (ES) activity

An indicative job plan will be provided; however, this may evolve in line with organisational vision, service development, and population needs.

The timetable can be flexible and may be adapted to reflect the appointee's special interests and expertise, subject to service requirements and future funding availability.

The job plan will be formally reviewed six months after appointment to ensure that the allocation of PAs appropriately reflects the responsibilities of the post.

Teaching, Training and Education

The post holder will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including the training and supervision of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Participation in educational supervision and clinical supervision of trainees is expected, subject to appropriate accreditation .
