Full Job Description

We are seeking a consultant withenthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisationand within the community to help lead the organisation.This is a fixed-term, 6 month locum appointment for a Locum Consultant in Clinical Oncologyspecialising in Urological Malignancies based at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) inNorthwood and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. At Mount Vernon, the post holder will be expected to work withmembers of the urology MDT planning and supervising the oncologytreatment of patients to include the safe delivery of SACT andradiotherapy.At Hillingdon Hospital the post holder will work closely with theurology multidisciplinary teams to provide a safe and high-qualityoutpatient oncology service., The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred GI and uro-oncologycare across MVCC and Hillingdon Hospital. They will be responsible for specialist outpatient care,participation in MDT meetings and the safe delivery of SACT, as well as leading and deliveringacute oncology services at both sites. They will also be expected to contribute to teaching andtraining across the multidisciplinary workforce; and will engage fully in directorate-level clinicalgovernance activities including audit, incident review, quality improvement, and adherence to trustand national cancer standards.

  • Maintenance of high-quality patient-centered care
  • Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service
  • Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
  • Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
  • Delivery and development of SACT administration
  • Active participation in continuing medical education
  • Active participation in trial research activities
