The post holder will be working at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). They will participate in all the activities of a busy cardiac Department and contribute to the expansion of the current Cardiology service.
The job will include supporting professional activities of revalidation and education
Main duties of the job
Total 10 PAs to include:
2 Out-patient clinics (6 new patients, 6 follow up)
Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (QEH) - This will consist of lab sessions (2 sessions per week and providing cross-cover)
7 sessions per year - Cardiologist of the Week
Supporting Professional Activities
Administration
Cardiologist of the Week (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).
Review of in-patients including on Cardiac Ward ( including CCU patients)
Daily AMU/ A&E and ward referral round
Telephone advice via Consultant-Connect to local General Practitioners
There is no on-call commitment or weekend work at QEH although it is envisaged that a weekend rota will be introduced with allocation of PAs and time off in lieu as appropriate. Out of hours support is provided by Guys and St Thomas' NHS Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Trust.
