Locum Consultant

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary community mental-health service supporting adults with complex mental-health needs. The successful applicant will provide senior medical input to the team, including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management and risk formulation, working closely with service users, carers and partner agencies., The role includes close working with psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, peer-support workers and other medical colleagues. Depending on grade and experience, the postholder will contribute to clinical leadership, supervision, teaching, service development, governance and quality-improvement activity., The Candidate Pack provides an overview of the key tasks and responsibilities of the role, and the person specification outlines the qualifications, skills, experience and knowledge required. Applicants should have substantial experience in adult psychiatry, excellent communication and collaborative-working skills, and a commitment to recovery-focused, trauma-informed and person-centred care. The post may be appointed at Consultant Psychiatrist level for an appropriately qualified candidate, or at Specialist Doctor level for an experienced doctor who meets the relevant requirements.,

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, MRCPsych
• Additional clinical qualifications
• Qualification or higher degree in clinical research or management
Eligibility,
• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
• GMC Specialist Register or within six months
• Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
• Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
• Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
