Joining Home Instead means becoming part of a supportive, values-driven team that is making a real difference to the lives of clients and their families across West Leicestershire and Market Bosworth every day., The client is a female living at home with complex care needs arising from Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's-related dementia, PEG feeding requirements, and specialist Duodopa pump therapy. She requires 24-hour person-centred support to maintain her safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life within her own home. The successful candidate will work closely with the client's family and multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality care that promotes wellbeing, comfort, and stability while supporting her wish to remain at home. Personal Care & Daily Living Support

  • Provide compassionate personal care with dignity and respect.
  • Assist with washing, dressing, continence care, oral hygiene, and grooming.
  • Support skincare and pressure area care.
  • Maintain the client's comfort, wellbeing, and personal preferences.
  • Support safe transfers using specialist equipment alongside visiting care staff.
  • Specialist Clinical Support - Training will be provided
  • Manage and monitor a Duodopa infusion pump following established care protocols.
  • Support PEG feeding and medication administration.
  • Monitor for changes in Parkinson's symptoms and overall wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate care records and medication documentation.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and family members as required.
  • Companionship & Emotional Support
  • Build a meaningful and trusting relationship with the client.
  • Facilitate communication with family members.
  • Encourage participation in meaningful activities and social engagement.
  • Support emotional wellbeing through reassurance, patience, and positive engagement.
  • Promote a calm, supportive, and person-centred environment.
  • Household Management
  • Prepare meals and drinks in accordance with the client's care plan.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised home environment.
  • Complete laundry and bedding changes.
  • Assist with shopping and stock management.
  • Ensure clinical supplies and medications are monitored and reordered when required.
  • Overnight Responsibilities
  • Sleep in provided accommodation with monitoring equipment active.
  • Respond promptly to any overnight needs or concerns.
  • Monitor for signs of respiratory distress or aspiration risks.
  • Ensure the client remains safe and comfortable throughout the night.

    Essential
  • Previous experience in live-in care.
  • Experience supporting clients with complex health needs.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
  • Excellent understanding of dignity, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Desirable
  • Experience supporting individuals living with Parkinson's disease.
  • Experience with dementia care.
  • Experience with PEG feeding.
  • Experience with medication administration.
  • Experience using hoists and moving and handling equipment.
  • Relevant Health & Social Care qualification.
