Residency Training Programme in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging, Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service, Solihull, UK Be part of one of the UK's leading small animal referral centres! Applications from highly motivated and ambitious colleagues are invited to undertake a Residency Training Programme in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging, commencing in the autumn of 2025. Willows Diagnostic Imaging team, comprising three Specialist Diagnostic Imagers, two Residents, a highly experienced Radiographer and six Imaging Nurses, provides exceptional imaging support for our multi-disciplinary Specialists across Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Orthopaedics and ECC. This clinical training position is designed to prepare the successful candidate for the ECVDI small animal track board examinations. Imaging facilities at Willows comprise:
- Siemens 1.5T Magnetom Sola
- 64 slice Siemens CT Go
- Samsung RS85A Ultrasound
- GE Logiq E10 Vet Ultrasound
- Two digital X-ray rooms including a fluoroscopy machine that offers the advantages of both digital fluoroscopy and radiography in one system
- Two in-theatre image intensifiers (GE Fluorostar, and Philips BV Pulsera) and one in-theatre Sonosite SII ultrasound system Images are reviewed and reported in a dedicated viewing room and stored on a Fuji PACS, from which they are available on over 100 workstations throughout the practice, including via dedicated Osirix equipped Mac workstations within the Imaging suite. Siemens Syngovia DICOM reading software is available throughout the hospital on PC systems. There is also off-site access to PACS when required. This is a full-time post with participation in a shared 1:3 out-of-hours rota.

Applicants should be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to practice in the United Kingdom and should have graduated from an institution that has been approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments (EAVEE). A minimum of one year in primary care practice and completion of a general clinical training programme (rotating internship), or several years of experience in high-level primary care, is mandatory. A thorough knowledge of both conversational and medical English is essential. An RCVS approved certification of advanced veterinary practice (CertAVP) is an advantage but not essential.
