Full Job Description
We're looking for a hands-on Line Leader / Key Operative to support the day-to-day running of our Mash Factory in Lincoln. You'll help ensure production runs safely, smoothly and to the high standards our customers expect. This is a practical, fast-paced role for someone who takes pride in doing a good job, communicates well and is ready to lead by example.
As a key part of the production team, you'll balance operating duties with supporting colleagues on the line. You'll help organise work, maintain pace and quality, and respond calmly when priorities change. Whether you're an experienced line leader or an operative ready to take the next step, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
Support the effective running of the mash production line, helping the team meet daily production plans.
Lead by example, allocate or coordinate tasks as needed, and help colleagues understand what needs to be done.
Carry out operational tasks across the line, following work instructions and using equipment safely and correctly.
Complete checks and records accurately, including relevant quality, production and traceability information.
Monitor product and process standards, acting promptly and escalating any concerns or faults.
Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work area, following food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
Work closely with colleagues and other teams to manage handovers, resolve day-to-day issues and keep production moving.
Look for practical ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste and make the working area better for everyone.
What you'll bring
Experience in a production, food manufacturing or other fast-paced operational environment would be useful.
Confidence supporting or guiding colleagues, with a positive and fair approach to teamwork.
A reliable, organised way of working and the ability to stay focused when production is busy.
A strong awareness of quality, hygiene and safe working practices, with a willingness to follow procedures.
Clear communication skills and the confidence to raise issues rather than let them go unnoticed.
A flexible, practical attitude and an interest in learning new processes and developing your skills.
You'll be comfortable working as part of a team and equally happy to take responsibility for your own tasks. Food production can be busy, so a steady approach, attention to detail and a willingness to pitch in will make a real difference.
