Full Job Description
We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.
Warwick District Council is looking for a dedicated Lifeline Response Officer (Nights) to join our Independent Living team. This rewarding role involves working overnight at our Leamington Spa call centre. This is a varied and highly rewarding role where no two days are the same.
Our service supports vulnerable residents through a 24/7 Lifeline telecare service, helping people remain safe and independent in their own homes. In addition, we provide out-of-hours customer services on behalf of local councils, including responding to homelessness enquiries, fire alarms, emergency repair requests, and other urgent calls for Warwick District Council as well as other partners.
As a Lifeline Response Officer, you will handle emergency alarm activations, assess situations, provide reassurance, coordinate appropriate support, and manage a range of out-of-hours council enquiries. You will need to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and deliver excellent customer service during the night, working independently whilst managing a busy and diverse workload.
We're looking for someone with experience delivering customer-focused services and a minimum of two years' experience working with older and/or vulnerable people. You'll have outstanding customer service skills, strong organisational abilities, excellent record keeping and IT skills, and the confidence to make decisions and solve problems independently. The post involves working on a rota including weekends, driving to properties within Warwick District, and climbing multiple flights of stairs.
In return, you'll join a supportive team committed to making a genuine difference to people's lives every day. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills, work closely with local communities, and play a key part in helping residents remain safe, independent and connected.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Please note this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Adult Barring List.
The post is based at our offices within Warwick District and is not suitable for home or hybrid working.
Here at Warwick District Council, we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer you a great place to work.
We achieve our goals by recruiting and retaining motivated, empowered and flexible staff. We are committed to training and development, and we encourage a healthy work-life balance.
