This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Taxi Licensing Team. We are looking for a customer focused individual, with excellent communication skills and a desire to make a difference. The team currently cover the following hours of 8 am to Noon then 1 pm to 4 pm each day with a 3.30 pm finish on a Friday. However, this may change in the Autumn if the team relocates to the Sandwell Council House when the hours to be covered will be 9 am to 5 pm each day with a 4.30 pm finish on a Friday. You will assist in the processing of applications for driver, vehicle and operator licences in line with the Council's Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy, give advice and guidance on licensing matters both on the phone and in person and give evidence in court in person as and when required.

• A minimum of 3 years experience of dealing with the general public in a front line capacity
• Experience of working in a high pressured and busy environment
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience of data inputting and handling customer payment transactions
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must hold or be prepared to undertake BTEC qualifications offered by NALEO or licensing qualifications offered by the Institute of Licensing Or Have 3 GCSE's Grade C or above including English and Maths or equivalent
