Introduction Are you a good problem solver? Do you have experience in private sector housing enforcement and regulation? Do you have a flair for improving housing standards? What's the role? To work as part of a team and on your own to improve the standard of the private sector housing stock in the borough. Proactively identify and issue licenses for residential accommodation. Improve poor living conditions and enforce statutory provisions as an Authorised Officer under the Council's scheme of delegations.

You will be experienced in investigating and enforcing housing standards in the private rented sector alongside delivering and enforcing HMO and selective licensing schemes in line with local policy and national housing legislation. You will hold a HHSRS qualification and have detailed knowledge of housing legislation, property construction, building regulations, planning requirements, disrepair, property maintenance, landlord and tenant rights and the effects of housing conditions on health.
