Full Job Description
We're looking for a Library Sales Executive to join our supportive, dynamic, and collaborative UK Library Sales team. In this role, you'll sell digital products and services-including eBooks, textbooks, and journals-to UK universities, working closely with academic librarians to understand their institutional needs and recommend the most effective solutions. You'll have regular opportunities to travel across the UK to meet customers, attend conferences, and represent Cambridge University Press & Assessment in the higher education community. The role offers strong variety and development, helping you build your skills in negotiation, relationship management, collaborative working, and creative problem solving within an evolving and fast-paced academic publishing environment. You'll take a strategic, customer-focused approach to managing your territory, using insight and commercial judgement to identify opportunities for growth and long-term partnership. Working closely with colleagues across the UK and EMEA, you'll help shape market activity and ensure our academic products and services are positioned effectively to meet institutional needs.,
- Use excellent communication skills to develop and maintain good customer relationships and to work towards acquiring new customers.
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities which include retaining regular business and building up new business in the territory.
- Achieves and exceeds sales targets with the specific list of UK Universities assigned to this role.
- As part of the UK and EMEA team you will attend regular internal meetings, feed into marketing campaigns, and share market intelligence gained from customer meetings.
- Travels to the territory and represents Cambridge at customer meetings (in person and/or via video call as required), conferences and industry events, ensuring this is kept within expenditure budgets.
- Acquires a good working knowledge of highly complex Academic products and services for institutions.
- Negotiates and finalises agreements with customers. This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. - Sales experience across journals, books, and textbooks
