Crest Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Librarian to inspire a love of reading and support student learning across the school. In this role, you will manage and develop a vibrant, well-resourced library. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide high-quality resources, support the curriculum, and deliver engaging library sessions. The successful candidate will be highly organised, passionate about reading, and committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.,
- Manage and develop library resources by maintaining an up-to-date, relevant collection of books and digital materials to support the curriculum.
- Promote literacy and reading by creating an engaging, welcoming library environment and encouraging students to become confident, independent readers.
- Support teaching and learning by liaising with staff, recommending resources, and coordinating effective library lessons across subjects.
- Oversee library systems and operations including cataloguing, booking systems, and ensuring safe and appropriate use of resources and technology.
- Manage budget and partnerships by monitoring spending, sourcing value for money, and developing links with external organisations to enhance literacy initiatives.
Degree or relevant qualification - Experience working in a library or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of children's or young adult literature
- Excellent organisational and ICT skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and promote a love of reading
