Liaison Psychiatry Clinical Psychologist

Experteer Overview In this Band 8a role you will shape psychological services within urgent care pathways, delivering expert assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex needs. You'll contribute to team development, training and supervision within the Liaison Psychiatry service at Wonford House, Exeter, working across acute hospital and community settings. You'll lead on service development, audit and research to improve access to psychological therapies and embedded practice. • Deliver specialist psychological assessments and interventions for adults referred to Liaison Psychiatry Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans Provide consultation and formulation support to MDT colleagues Undertake risk assessment and contribute to care planning Coordinate the psychology offer within Liaison Psychiatry with senior colleagues Lead or contribute to service redesign, audits, evaluations and research projects Embed practice-based evidence and access to therapies across the service Deliver training programmes to hospital and liaison staff Provide supervision to psychology staff, trainees and non-psychology clinicians Support doctoral placements and teach in professional training courses Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across acute and community settings Communicate complex information with skill and compassion Contribute to psychologically informed pathways in acute hospital settings Tasks Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment across outpatient, community and inpatient settings Experience with diverse client groups and range of clinical severity Experience in teaching, training or supervision Leadership experience within NHS psychology/therapy services and contribution to strategy and policy in multidisciplinary contexts Registration with HCPC/UKCP/other regulatory body Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (D Clin Psych or equivalent) or Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) Knowledge of NHS drivers such as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Strong leadership, resilience and ability to handle ambiguity Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills Key requirements Relocation package Flexible working
