Level 3 Teaching Assistant

At Desian we are working with a school in Litherland looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the team in January 2027, supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. What your new role includes:

Supporting primary-aged pupils with a primary diagnosis of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Sefton.

Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, both in and outside the school environment

Supporting pupils to reach their full potential through tailored guidance and encouragement.

Building positive, supportive relationships with pupils and their parents/carers.

Providing one-to-one and small-group support to meet individual pupil needs.

Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and the development of social skills.

Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Helping pupils engage with learning and participate in school activities.

Using positive behaviour management strategies

Experience working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant.

Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.

A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

A full driving licence (desirable).
