Introduction
Develop the knowledge and skills needed for a career in health, safety and wellbeing. As a Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience in risk management, workplace inspections, investigations, safety campaigns and wellbeing initiatives while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

What You'll Do
- Support Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives across SSL sites.
- Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work, policies and procedures.
- Undertake workplace inspections and site visits to monitor safety standards.
- Support accident and incident investigations and identify root causes.
- Help create and deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
- Create content for health, safety and wellbeing campaigns.
- Analyse information and present findings to support continuous improvement.
- Support the review and development of safety management systems.
- Learn to interpret and apply health and safety legislation in the workplace.
- Work with colleagues to identify hazards and promote safe working practices.
Training Outcome
Successful completion of the apprenticeship will provide the knowledge, skills and experience needed to pursue a career in Health, Safety and Wellbeing. The apprentice will gain experience across a wide range of activities, including safety management systems, investigations, training, wellbeing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within a multi-site organisation.

Working Arrangements
Working Week: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. This is a hybrid role with some opportunity to work from home, however a regular visible presence across SSL sites will be required to meet the needs of the business.
