Introduction
We are looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join HycAero, a Score company based at our facility in Burnley, England.
About the Employer
Score Group is a specialist in precision manufacturing, valve supply, automation and management systems and provides complex engineering solutions to customers in multiple markets, including defence, nuclear, aerospace, utilities, and energy. HycAero primary focus is on special processing of civil airframe, defence and commercial components and ancillary equipment. Specialist activities include engineering and design, advanced manufacturing, the application of protective treatments and component repair.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to develop a broad understanding of how a specialist aerospace manufacturing business operates. The role will initially focus on learning our bespoke business systems and supporting day-to-day administration, before progressively developing into production planning, scheduling and customer-facing responsibilities.
The successful apprentice will gain experience across different areas of the business, developing the knowledge, confidence and commercial awareness required to progress into a Production Controller role.
You will work closely with colleagues across the business and gain an understanding of how customer requirements, production capacity, quality, delivery and internal priorities all interact to ensure work is completed efficiently and on time.
Primary responsibilities
- Learning to use HycAero's bespoke software and business systems.
- Carrying out general business and production administration.
Booking in purchase orders and ensuring information is accurately recorded. - Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
- Supporting the administration of customer orders and requirements.
- Developing basic communication skills when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Assisting colleagues with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks.
- Learning how information flows between sales, purchasing, production, quality and other departments.
- Developing an understanding of the aerospace manufacturing environment and the importance of accuracy, traceability and attention to detail.
