Level 2 Teaching Assistant, Part time - 0.6 (Fixed Term)

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our thriving Learning Support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students in achieving both academic and personal success.

As a specialist performing arts school, creativity, self-expression and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do. Our Learning Support Assistants play a vital role in ensuring all students can fully participate in both classroom learning and the rich range of creative and performance opportunities available to them.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, celebrating student achievements and helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence in a vibrant and inspiring environment.

Key relationships:

The post holder is accountable to the SENCO, Vice Principal (Director of Teaching & Learning) and to the Principal.

Main accountabilities:

The post holder will be required to exercise their professional skills and judgement to carry out, in a collaborative manner, the professional duties set out below:

Responsibilities:

Student Support and Learning

· Provide support to students across a range of academic, vocational and creative learning environments.

· Deliver targeted interventions and adapt support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with SEND.

· Work collaboratively with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice and positive engagement in learning.

· Support students to achieve their individual targets and develop confidence, independence and resilience.

· Encourage participation in performing arts, enrichment opportunities and wider school life.

· Recognise and celebrate students' strengths, achievements and personal growth.

Pastoral Support

· Build positive and trusting relationships with students, providing encouragement and support.

· Promote students' emotional wellbeing, self-esteem and positive social development.

· Recognise when additional support may be required and communicate concerns appropriately.

· Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams to ensure students feel safe, valued and supported.

Working as Part of the Learning Support Team

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality support across the school.

· Share good practice and contribute to the ongoing development of Learning Support provision.

· Attend meetings, training and professional development opportunities as required.

Whole School

· Support the school's ethos, values and commitment to student success.

· Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies and procedures.

· Attend meetings, INSET, Open Days and other school events as required.

· Promote positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community.

· Demonstrate professionalism through a positive, flexible and reliable approach to work.
