Compass Community Schools is opening a new school in Newton-le-Willows in January 2027, providing specialist education for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Many pupils also have additional SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties. Some have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences and social care involvement.
As a trauma and attachment-informed organisation, we provide extensive therapeutic training and support to all staff. Our child-centred approach brings together education professionals, therapists, families and local authorities to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Apprenticeships are available for Teaching Assistant Level 3 and Specialist Teaching Assistant Level 5 qualifications.
We encourage Teaching Assistants to contribute ideas, support curriculum development and help shape the wider school experience.
