Introduction

About the Employer
Anstice Pharmacy is an established community pharmacy located in Madeley, Telford, and is part of the MSN Pharmacy Group. The pharmacy provides a range of services to the local community, including prescription services, Pharmacy First and health checks. The apprentice will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience within a busy community pharmacy, developing their knowledge and skills while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.
What You'll Do
Typical duties for a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprentice could include:
- Supporting customers and patients at the pharmacy counter
- Receiving and processing prescriptions
- Preparing and assembling medicines under supervision
- Labelling and dispensing prescriptions accurately
- Ordering, receiving and storing medicines and pharmacy stock
- Checking stock levels and expiry dates
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised pharmacy environment
- Using pharmacy computer systems and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting the wider pharmacy team with day-to-day task
- Following pharmacy procedures, confidentiality requirements and health and safety guidance
- Developing knowledge of medicines and common health conditions
- Communicating professionally with patients, customers and healthcare professionals
Training Outcome
On successful completion of the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, the apprentice can progress into a permanent Pharmacy Services Assistant role and continue developing their career within pharmacy. They may also have the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, subject to the relevant entry requirements.
