Introduction
Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistants will gain hands-on experience in a retail environment, learning to assist in dispensing prescription medicines and ordering pharmaceutical stock. They will also develop key skills in customer service, including advising on over-the-counter medications and assisting with minor ailments

What You'll Do
- Welcome and assist patients at the counter, providing friendly and professional customer service
- Help process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Prepare and label medicines safely and accurately
- Manage stock: checking deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping shelves organised
- Handle phone enquiries from patients, GPs, and other healthcare professionals
- Learn to use the pharmacy computer systems for dispensing and record‑keeping
- Support the sale of over‑the‑counter medicines following pharmacy protocols
- Keep the dispensary and retail areas clean, tidy, and compliant with regulations
- Work as part of the pharmacy team to ensure patients receive timely, safe medication
- Complete apprenticeship training tasks, on‑the‑job learning, and assessments
Training Outcome
- On completion of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent role within the organisation
- There may also be opportunities for further training and career development depending on performance
